1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kudos Kids mobile application ("the App") and related services operated by Igloo Labs Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
If you are creating an account on behalf of a family, you represent that you are a parent or legal guardian of any children who will use the App under your account.
2. Eligibility
- Parents/Guardians: You must be at least 18 years old to create a Kudos Kids account.
- Children: Children under 18 may only use the App under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who holds an active account. Children access the App through profiles created and managed by their parent/guardian.
- By creating a child's profile, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and consent to their use of the App in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
3. Account Registration
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity by children using profiles within your family.
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Description of Service
Kudos Kids is a family rewards application that allows parents to:
- Create tasks for their children
- Set up rewards and a virtual shop
- Approve task completions and reward purchases
- Manage family settings and co-parent access
Children can:
- View and complete assigned tasks
- Earn virtual currencies within the App
- Purchase rewards from the family shop
- Build and customise a virtual island
- Earn badges and achievements
5. Virtual Currencies and Rewards
- Virtual currencies (Shells, Flowers, Stars, Coins) exist only within the App and have no monetary value outside of it.
- Virtual currencies cannot be exchanged for real money, traded between users, or transferred to other accounts.
- "Real-world rewards" (e.g., screen time, treats) are promises between parents and children within a family. Igloo Labs Limited has no responsibility for the fulfilment of these rewards.
- We reserve the right to adjust virtual currency balances if errors or exploitation are detected.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Upload content that is offensive, harmful, or inappropriate for children
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or our systems
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App in any way that could harm, disable, or impair the service
- Create accounts for fraudulent purposes
- Share your family code with anyone outside your family unit
7. User Content
You may upload content to the App, including task proof photos and avatar images ("User Content").
- You retain ownership of your User Content.
- By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display it within the App for the purposes of providing the service.
- You represent that you have the right to upload any content and that it does not violate any third party's rights.
- We may remove User Content that violates these Terms or is reported as inappropriate.
- Task proof photos should depict the completed task, not the child.
8. Co-Parent Access
- Account holders can invite co-parents to share management of their family within the App.
- You are responsible for ensuring that anyone you invite is a trusted adult with appropriate authority over the children in your family.
- Co-parents have the same management capabilities as the primary account holder.
- You can revoke co-parent access at any time.
9. Alexa Skill
The Kudos Kids Alexa Skill is an optional integration. By enabling and linking the Skill:
- You consent to sharing task and wallet data with Amazon's Alexa service for voice interaction.
- Amazon's own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of Alexa.
- You can unlink or disable the Skill at any time.
10. Fees and Payments
Kudos Kids is currently free to download and use. There are no in-app purchases, subscription fees, or advertisements.
If we introduce paid features in the future, we will provide advance notice and these Terms will be updated accordingly. Existing free features will remain free.
11. Availability and Updates
- We strive to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
- We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability.
- We may update the App from time to time. Some updates may be required for continued use.
- We reserve the right to discontinue the service with reasonable notice (minimum 90 days).
12. Intellectual Property
- The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Igloo Labs Limited and protected by intellectual property laws.
- The Kudos Kids name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Igloo Labs Limited.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without our written permission.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, given the App is free, would be zero).
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Igloo Labs Limited, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
15. Account Termination
- You can delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, all data associated with your account (including children's profiles) will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Provisions of these Terms that should survive termination (including liability limitations and indemnification) will continue to apply.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer based in the EU or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Igloo Labs Limited regarding the use of Kudos Kids.
